@DrunkenLeprechaunPro definately true. but an object the size of the ocean, should it be solid, would experience the pull of the moon without the deformation characteristic to fluids, such is the case of the planet itself (or the earthy parts, to be precise) the human body recieves a small jolt from the moon aswell, but 1) we are small things. it is about 0,03% of the pull exerted upon us by the earth, and 2) even if we were liquid, the effect would be nearly null like a on a glass of water

True, but think of this. If the moon has an influence on the Ocean (tides, for example) and humans are made up of 70% water... would the moon not have an influence on us? Rationally, it's hard to accept it, but it's not completely farfetch'd. Astrology is becoming more and more of a science rather than a "new age hype". That journal conducted only one study in its existence, I believe, and it did deal with astrology, or some subspecies of it... It passed the test. Whether the test was correct of flawed is up to question - especially since Skeptical Inquirer is in no way a scientific body - but it did pass. So... Does the depth of your research doesn't even run as deep as your closest colleagues, or are you deliberately lying?

Tropical Astrology (the one that works) has nothing to do with the constelations. Signs have the same name of the constalaitons only out of tradition but they are a different thing. The contdown of the signs start in the Vernal point (or Aries point our gama point) wich is the point in sky where the ecliptic circle (the path of the Sun) meets the equator circle in the spring of the northern hemisphere.

Truly, Both sciences came from the same place in time, many years ago. This video is not accurate. The astrological realms planetary cycles, were studied year after year in ancient days, starting with chauldren (sp) priests. These holy men tracked day and night planetary activity. Over time things evolved, astronomy and astrology had two seperate languages, then parted ways...though both serve a higher purpose to mankind. Although I don't give much time or thought to Asrtrology I do appreceate it as a creative ispiration for art and imagination. I don't think it should be taken so seriously as to try to live one's life by it but it is a fun and interesting distraction that makes for good conversation. Generally, if you stick to benefic talismans there is not a problem with using more than one. Mars & Saturn may need to have a bit of distance from other planets. In terms of protection against malefic spiritual influence, there are a number of fixed star talismans, like Vega & Procyon that work well. Check out my Renaissance Astrology web site for more info. The key to astrological talismans is creating or making them at an astrologically appropriate time. This means actually engraving, casting, inscribing, writing, etc., at the astrologically elected time. It would be easier just to make them at any convenient time and then consecrate them at an astrologically elected time, but this loses out on the power that creation at an elected time provides. Saturn has been in detriment in Cancer & Leo for the past 4-5 years (!) so we haven't been able to make Saturn talismans. We have a casting planned for late November 2008. Exaltation is close enough in power to sign/domicile to be almost indistinguishable. Cornelius Agrippa in his Three Books of Occult Philosophy says Saturn is good for long life, increasing power & prophesying things to come. Saturn also rules magic and occult philosophy.

That being said, at Renaissance Astrology we do typically use some of the planet's metal in its talismans. We do not use toxic metals like mercury and even are hesitant to use lead. This is not really a problem as our traditional sources list many different metals for each planet and as mentioned, materials are the least important part of talismans. Christopher Warnock

Modern people get obsessed with the physical material and design of talismans, but according to our traditional sources, the astrological timing of a talisman is the most important factor. Ritual and consecration is also important. Materials can help, but are not as important as timing and ritual. Thabit Ibn Qurra, for example, says "Don't worry about what metal you use for their power and strength is in [the astrological timing}" De Imaginibus, ch 5. Christopher Warnock
