It's not about Amy's own experiences--in fact it is one of the rare times she recorded a song that she didn't have a hand in writing. The song was pitched to her by a friend (maybe her manager? can't remember exactly) and she immediately knew she wanted to record it. I suppose she could really relate to it. Her voice is really shot towards the end of this performance...her live performances are not what they used to be...but the studio recording of this is absolutely gorgeous.

They have a word for that...its called ignorance. Do you even know how the canon came to be my friend? Determining the canon was a process, first by Jewish rabbis and scholars, and then later by early Christians. A book of Scripture belonged in the canon from the moment God inspired its writing. It was simply a matter of God convincing His human followers which books should be included in the Bible. Personally I think this is rubbish, but this is how it came to be.

I stopped buying anything she put out, when she committed adultery and I never heard her repent publicly for taking another women's husband but instead called this man her soulmate. I Love Amy's voice both then and now! I think she has a lot of character now with her voice, its low and raspy, I LOVE that quality. Back then it was more smooth and higher but I think she has improved. Wonderfully done and I Love it!! Most of this band were back last night for the 20th anniversary "lead me on" tour 08 in Fort Worth, TX. Amy Grant began the night solo with "Fathers Eyes". This was unique because Amy Launced her first paid concert career in the 70s there @ "will rogers auditorium" Amy had the same band, set list from 1988. She still has the vocals and moves to pull it off. smokin' band. Kudos Jerry Mcpherson,Greg Morrow, Mike Brignardello, Chris Rodriguez, Kim Keys, Chris Eaton and others. You Rocked!

I got to see this tour in Concord, California. I was 2nd or 3rd row - awesome!! I had just "discovered" her that year, 1985, dating myself, LOL. Still one of THE BEST concerts I ever saw, including plenty of secular ones I've seen. BTW, Michael did a tour also at Concord later that year, his first big tour. Saw him and the band at a diner on our way back from the concert, and said hello to them all. Super nice to us, although they must have been WIPED OUT!

I remember the "lead me on" tour. I saw it at the Aladin Hotel in Las Vegas. I remember Michael W Smith opening for her. His big intro build up with the instrumental song "ashton", the crowd was just as excited to see smitty. Amy had Mark O'Conner with her on this tour playing the meanest rock violin on "wait for the healing". Chris Rodriguez,Jerry Mcpherson on guitar, Gary Chapman on bass. Donna McElroy on backing vocals. 2 weeks later to park city ut and saw Amy again. It was heaven.
